Education Fund

The Education Fund was established to support teachers and students in the Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools.

March 1st was a special day for the teachers and entire staff of Hall Woodward Elementary School for Communications! To support teachers in resilience, we asked what they would like for Teacher Appreciation Week. Their answer: lunch for the entire staff.

Thanks to generous donors and The Porch Kitchen and Cantina, the day was a huge success. The staff was very appreciative and uplifted to know that people care about who they are and their contribution to the education of our children. We watched as their faces changed from the seriousness of work to joy as they came into the Media Center to be served.

Many thanks to Principal Tribby for the opportunity to support her staff, with special thanks to Mr. Eric Jones and Assistant Principal Cynthia Rash. We could not have succeeded without the help of Jerry Cooper II (grandson of Geneva Brown, former school board member WSFCS), Kathleen Werner and Sarah from The Porch Kitchen and Cantina who helped us set up. Here we are in action!
